bulletAdult Students in Scholastic Transition (ASIST) Scholarship Program
The Executive Women International (EWI) offers the ASIST Scholarship Program to benefit non-traditional students. Non-traditional students include persons who are past high school age and who are entering college or trade schools and/or the workforce for the first time, non-traditional students already enrolled in a college or trade program, are re-training due to changes in the workplace, or who otherwise are not the traditional college or trade school student, recently finished with high school.

The Hana Lima Scholarship provides financial assistance to students participating in vocational or technical education program for occupations that can proved a living wage. This scholarship is available to students in vocational programs that lead to a specific segment of employment.

The Honolulu Branch of the American Association of University Women offers additional fellowships and scholarships to assist women wishing to continue their education in Hawaii. Go to the 'Scholarships' page of their website for more information and to request a scholarship application.
bulletAmerican Association of University Women (AAUW) Windward Branch
The AAUW Windward Branch awards several educational grants. Applicants must be: legal, Hawaii women residents of Windward Oahu; enrolled at least half-time in a classified degree program or accepted for admission at a regionally accredited post-secondary institution in the state of Hawaii and not previously awarded a baccalaureate degree. American Business Women's Association (ABWA) Onipa'a Chapter The Onipa'a Chapter of the American Business Women's Association proudly announces the twenty fourth annual scholarship program to benefit students. The Onipa'a Chapter is sponsoring two (2) scholarships for the 2012-2013 school year.

bulletArmed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) Hawaii
AFCEA Hawaii is now accepting AFCEA Hawaii Merit Scholarship applications for the 2012-2013 Academic Year. $2,000 and $3,000 will be awarded. The program is open to graduating high school seniors and current college students. Applicants must indicate an intention to major in a discipline that supportsAFCEA Hawaii fields of interest (Communications, IT, Intelligence, and Global Security). Application deadline is April 30, 2012.

bulletAssociated Chinese University Women, Inc. (ACUW)
The ACUW is pleased to announce four regular scholarships and two special scholarships. ACUW raises funds to provide assistance to students of Chinese or part Chinese ancestry. bulletDependents of Members of Bargaining Unit 07
Scholarship for dependents of members of BU 07 who attend any campus of the UH System. The member of BU 07, will be able to apply and identify dependent(s), who will then complete the application. One application must be submitted per dependent. The first-come, first-served queue will begin automatically once the application is fully completed by the member and dependent. The dependent must already have applied and been admitted to a UH campus to qualify. Continuing students already enrolled qualify as well.
bulletGates Millennium Scholars
Funded by a billion dollar grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, this scholarship is designed to assist in the college education of twenty thousand high achieving, low income minority students. Students must be entering their first year of college (high school seniors, GED recipients, adult students), and planning to enroll as full-time, degree-seeking students at an accredited college or university. Applications must be submitted by Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. EST.

The HEA is offering the undergraduate, student teacher and Hiroshi & Barbara Kim Yamashita scholarships for the 2012-2013 academic year. Applications are due April 2, 2012.

Students (and members) who are Hawaii Government Employees Association dependents may apply for the Charles R. Kendall Scholarship, Russell K. Okata Scholarship, HGEA Member Awards, AFSCME Family Scholarship, and Jerry Clark Memorial Scholarship. Deadlines vary (check website for deadline).

The Hawaii State Federal Credit Union Scholarship program provides scholarships for HSFCU members or their dependents seeking a post-high school education. Scholarship recipients are selected based on financial need, academic merit, and extra-curricular activities. Application period is open from January through April each year.

The Hawaii USA Federal Credit Union offers scholarships to members who are graduating high school seniors or current college students. Scholarships are awarded based on merit, academic standing, leadership, financial need, and recommendations. Application is due in February.

The Kamehameha Schools provides financial assistance to students including Post-High Scholarships. KSBE’s policy is to give preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law. Application period opens January. Deadlines vary – see website for details.

Merit or need based scholarships with a preference for applicants of Hawaiian ancestry. This foundation strives to generate new and diverse sources of income to support the increasing educational needs and goals of people of Hawaiian ancestry.

Liko A`e is a Native Hawaiian Scholarship Program administered by Maui Community College. Funding for the program comes from the U.S. Department of Education via the Native Hawaiian Education Act.
bulletOahu Retired Teachers Association (ORTA) (PDF)
The Oahu Retired Teachers Association offers scholarship grants of $1,500 for University students and $1,000 for Community College students enrolled in the State of Hawaii for the School Year 2011-2012. Criteria for selection include: 1.) Financial Need, 2.) Family Circumstances, 3.) Academic Achievement, 4.) Recommendations, 5.) Priority given to Education majors. Application must reach the ORTA Scholarship Chairperson by Friday, May 6, 2011.

The Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation offers Scholarship Grants to students who have participated in select competitive sports (canoeing, surfing, kayaking, swimming, water polo, and volleyball). Application period is open from January 1st to April 1st each year.

Palama Settlement offers two educational scholarship program opportunties: Hannah Cochrane College Scholarship (selection based on participation in community service, financial need, and for achieving high scholastic records) and Blackfield & Friends Education Scholarship (selection based on student's affiliation/participation in Palama Settlement's programs, financial need, and for achieving high scholastic records).

The Patsy Takemoto Mink Education Foundation offered five Education Support Awards of up to $2,000 each in 2011 to assist low-income women with children who are pursuing education or training. Applications for the Education Support Awards for 2012 will be accepted beginning on, but not before, May 15, 2012.

www.soroptimist.org The Soroptimist International Women’s Opportunity Awards provide cash grants to women who are working to better their lives through additional skills training and education. Must be a woman with primary financial responsibility for yourself and your dependents (children, spouse, siblings, and/or parents), attending a vocational skills training program or undergraduate degree program, and have financial need. Application (with references) must be received by December 15th.

bulletUniversity of Hawai`i System Scholarships
The University of Hawai`i (UH) System Scholarships are open to students who are admitted as regular students attending any of the ten campuses of the UH System. Multiple scholarships are availabe based on variety of criteria. Single online application is used. Additional documents to submit include Official Transcripts, Letters of Recommendation (2), Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), Personal Statement, and Essay(s). The online application for the 2012-13 academic year will open in January 2012 (with a deadline of March 1, 2012).
bulletWomen’s League of Central Union Church – Rewick and Scudder Scholarships (PDF)
The Women’s League of Central Union Church will make multiple awards for the Kenneth O. Rewick Educational Aid Grant and the Ruth C. Scudder Scholarship. The Scholarship Committee will review applications based on the following criteria: 1.) Scholarship, 2.) Evidence of real financial need, 3.) Character, 4.) Community Service, 5.) Evidence of personal effort to supplement educational funds. Deadline is last day of February.
